Welcome to www.crosstrain.me! I am your host, “Kettlebell” Karl Scott.
What does it mean to crosstrain? To vary an exercise routine to promote overall fitness and/or to prevent overuse or repetitive stress injuries through multiple exercises.
The equipment I utilize are Kettlebells, TRX, and Pilates Apparatus.
When Kettlebells are used properly, nothing gets the heartrate up faster or works a variety of modalities ie. strength, flexibility, endurance, hand-eye coordination and speed (to name a few).
TRX is not only portable but allows the user the opportunity to work with his or her own body weight. It is truly an open-ended piece of which the possibilities are endless for both hand and feet utilization.
Pilates Reformer, Tower and Chair are the Gold Standard for allowing the user to work on core as well as flexibility in a manner that can improve posture. As a low impact exercise, it avoids compressing the spine.
